Government Bodies: As many government bodies are actually associated with
the food discipline and hence an opportunity lies there. Before applying to the
position you have to check the eligibility criterion with concern to age,
graduation or higher studies, domain certification, etc. Here I will give brief
information about the position in the organization and specify the link of the
website. You can check the updates from the website also.
The following
are some of the examples of government bodies recruitment.
1) FSSAI: It is the apex organization with concern about food
safety in India. As it has recent recruitment for the post of Central FSO,
Technical Officer, Deputy Director with special reference to the field of food
technology. Currently, the availability of food safety officers is very limited
extent with concern to locality so in future more opening paves their way.
The pre-exam
is already conducted which is objective in nature. And now in this year mains
i.e. written exam is scheduled. It is a great opportunity to be in the
government cadre. Also chances to get more selection due to the number of
vacancies all across India.
2) Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS): As for the positions of BIS, a graduate in the respected
discipline can be an eligible candidate. The main positions one look for are
Technical Officer, Assistant Director. Hence, a good opportunity to the
upcoming pass out students as in the recent past one recruitment process is held
out.
3) Food Corporation of India (FCI): I must say that this is one of the fine agency which
provides recruitment opportunity at regular intervals. Here main positions are
procurement, warehouse manager, Assistant Manager. The combination of B. Tech
(Food Technology) along with MBA paves a place for Management Trainee and
Assistant Manager position. It lies a great opportunity to work with FCI and I
have seen many food graduates working for the same.
4) National Bank for Agriculture and Rural
Development (NABARD): Though the regularity of advertisement is less but still, there are
vacancy for the post of Assistant Manager in Food and Dairy Processing
Development in the cadre of Grade A and Grade B.
5) Export Inspection Council (EIC): As there are vacancies at the EIC with concern to
positions of Assistant Director and Technical Officer. Also, it is one of the
good opportunities to directly move forward in the field of export.
6) Government Institutions: It mainly involves different research and academic government institutions. It comprises CFTRI, CWC, NABI, DFRL, NDRI, NIFTEM to state government institute. It proves to be a life-changing experiment for the selected candidates. It also involves the academic opportunity at the government institute or college, typically includes JRA, STR, AP, Associate Professor, HOD, Professor to many schemes. As I have already prepared a blog with concern to academic career so could get a reference from it.
7) Others: It mainly includes different projects undergone via
government. One can opt for it, with concern to their skills and suitability to
work in such situations.
2. JRF / Scientist: As till now very few students qualified for the JRF. As of now with
concern to Maharashtra, only three-person joined in the cadre of Scientist under
ICAR. Though from past some years vacancy could not be there for such post but
still with concern to inputs from Mr. Bansode V.V.: (Scientist at Regional
Research Centre, Bhubaneswar) you can prepare for exams which will be
positioned in the upcoming days. As there are many chances that in the coming days the
recruitment could be opened for the positions so prepare accordingly.
3.
Regulatory Officers: This is going to be a new trend in the current scenario. As
many companies or multi-national companies need a person to handle all legal
and regulatory affairs with concern to the domain. From that perspective, many
food graduates are entered in that area and doing great. It is one of the niche
positionings with concern to food technology.
4. Banking sector: As many pass-out students opt banking as a Profession.
The different position in the banking sector are Agricultural Officer (AO),
Agricultural & Financial Officer (AFO), Specialist Officer (SO),
Probationary Officer (PO), Agri-Business Marketing Manage could be a suitable
jobs.
During previous years there
is some problem with concern to eligibility but now it is to mention on the
mandate that B. Tech Food students are eligible for such post. Also, you can
take guidance from food tech students who cracked these examinations. As many
more students quality these exams in recent years due to good reasoning and
analytical skills. Many food graduates are working as an Assistant Manager and
Branch Manager in different banks. This golden opportunity only works if you have
the required skills and perfect combination of conceptual expertise and
dedication at work.
5. Lab
Technician or Analyst: Here, I have to specify that the number of vacancies is less at the extent.
You have to face major competition from B. Sc. Chemistry and Microbiology
students. Though the chances are less if you prove worthy of your basic
knowledge then it is advisable to you. At present situations many firms and
government institutes looking for expertise with food discipline for such
position.
6. KVK
(Krushi Vigyan Kendra): At various KVK a position of Subject Matter Specialist
(SMS) is engaging. For PG student it is a good option so be ready to bet your
boots in that discipline. Though the number of aspirants who are working there
is few in number still the opportunity lies ahead as the government looking to
appoint a specific person from food discipline at various KVK positions of SMS particularly
in food discipline.
7. Competitive
Exams: With concern to UPSC, different public service
commission exams your basics should be perfect. As now many aspirants in that
arena could make their way into various assessments like staff selection commission,
government recruitment, patent officer, chief executive officer, and others.
Start your preparation before your final year itself as it is required to clear
your basics up to that period. Because once you overcome that you will try to
focus on the applicability approach for that position.
Friends, if
your preparations are up to the mark then some might opt for a job and part-time
study. It typically depends on the self-commitment of the candidate. During the journey, you must be equipped with
patience because efforts may not have shortcuts. I have seen many people who
are achieving success when they are working with some organizations. It
clearly depends on concept clarity, applications, skills, judgment power, and
ability to sustain the pressure.
8. FoSTaC
Consultant: To ensure the awareness of food safety till the grass-root
level many firms act as a consultant or provide other appropriate work from their
end as a part of the representatives or training partner. According to FSSAI
food safety is shared responsibility it creates empanelled training partners. For
ensuring the more outreach of FoSTaC certification food authority includes training
partners. The main category of organization agencies:
1) Associations: It comprises trade, professionals and scientific associations
in the food sector at regional or state and national level with a requirement of
100 members.
2) Licensed Food Businesses: Many FBO’s (Food Business Operator) train small
businessmen, contractual manufacturer, and their own staff.
3) Recognized Academic and Vocational
Institutes:
Some of the universities, technical institutes, or academic institutions apply FoSTaC
course curriculum as an existing one or offer these as a specific course.
4) Training Providing Agency: It approved by skill courses, some government schemes, and other skill agencies who have at least three years of experience at
national or at the international level with concern to food discipline.
9. Others: It mainly includes other routes which lay concrete on some positions
like a dietician, nutritionist as per specific eligibility criteria with concern
