Dear All,

Graduation is the field where excellence can be upgraded, improved and utilized for the mutual benefits. 

Today we will discuss the colleges for UG, PG, PhD along with the B.Sc food colleges and B. Vocational colleges in the discipline of food technology or food science. Friends it is rightly quoted that, Food technology is the evergreen field in the modern era. But here the problem lies that different people from different locality could not able to identify good colleges to study the course. Here people are just thankful for the nearby places and don’t go for other options.

Hence, I make a sincere effort to prepare the requisite list of colleges so one could able to search all food tech colleges under one roof. From this perspective, I chose the Maharashtra state for the first instance as it has higher agricultural and deemed university. For taking the same concern I am preparing the list with the inclusion of website details and other necessary information. So that rather than taking a glimpse, you can take the whole list under your palm.

1. Agricultural University:

As Maharashtra has 4 number of Agriculture university, hence more number of colleges in B Tech (Food Technology).

There are two government colleges for B Tech (Food Technology) and one is situated at Parbhani under VNMKV University since 1976 and another is recently started at Yavatmal under Dr. PDKV University. From the year 2004 private colleges are admitted under the University for the Course. Now there are 25 Private colleges running successfully in the State of Maharashtra.

2. Deemed and State University 

Now we move forward towards the colleges under state university or deemed university. Some of them are a literally an excellent ones. But you have to take care of their eligibility criteria as that may be a deciding factor to check about your candidature. 

As some colleges like ICT Mumbai is at the top with concern to the profile. Many colleges require qualification of GATE examinations and other requisite necessities. You can take this note with concern to the regular checking of the university website.

 4. B. Voc. (Food) Colleges and Certificate Courses

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as a part of college or university education leading to B.Voc degrees with multiple exits, such as Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and degree under the NSQF.

    The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) is a competency-based framework that organizes all qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude. All other frameworks, including the NVEQF (National Vocational Educational Qualification Framework) released by the Ministry of HRD, stand superseded by the NSQF.

    In that sense, the NSQF is a quality assurance framework. The NSQF is anchored at the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and is being implemented through the National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC) which comprises of all key stakeholders.

    As per my observation, it is a really great opportunity to the PG holder’s in B Tech (Food Technology) to join Academics in B.Voc colleges.
